Hi there! We’re Ashley and Daniel Bryant, the faces behind Home Like You Mean It. As a True Colour Expert and interior decorator, Ashley helps homeowners design their perfect home. As a licensed general contractor, Daniel gives step-by-step home renovation and DIY tutorials.

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I started Home Like You Mean It alongside my husband, Daniel, in 2019 in hopes that this site would serve as a resource to homeowners, whether they are decorating, painting their home, remodeling or renovating.

I’ve always had a love for design and decorating, and renovating our dated 90s house has given me the canvas to fuel my passion. Along the way, I became increasingly frustrated with choosing paint colors for our home and sought out education by way of Maria Killiam’s True Colour Expert designation.

It was during this intensive training that a light bulb went off for me and I began to see paint colors differently. Suddenly I was able to choose paint colors for my home easily! I began writing about paint colors extensively on my blog and those are still some of my best loved posts today. Here are some of my top paint color articles:

In the spring of 2023, I also stepped out of my comfort zone and launched a Youtube channel to better help my readers with paint color reviews. Soon, I’ll be adding home decor and documenting our home renovation progress to my channel, but for now, make sure to check out my page if you need help with paint colors!

More about Daniel:

In 2019, my wife Ashley, and I launched Home Like You Mean It. As a licensed General Contractor in the state of North Carolina for nearly 10 years, I give homeowners helpful how to DIY advice through step-by-step tutorials. Before I was a general contractor, I worked as a carpenter along side my dad for nearly 10 years. I enjoyed the time spent with him and learning the trade of carpentry from an expert.

Now, I work as a general contractor in North Carolina, specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodels, large-scale screened-in porches, custom cabinetry and more!

When I’m not working on client’s homes or my own home, you can catch me drinking coffee and enjoying time with my family.
